Mary K O’Melveny, a retired labor rights lawyer, and her wife Susan, split their time between the K-W and Woodstock NY. Mary’s poetry has appeared in many print and on-line literary journals, anthologies and on national blog sites such as The New Verse News and Writing In A Woman’s Voice. A Pushcart Prize nominee, Mary has received award recognition in many national and international poetry contests such as Slippery Elm Literary Journal Poetry Competition, The Pangaea Prize sponsored by The Poet’s Billow, the Tom Howard/Margaret Reid Poetry Competition, the Writer’s Digest Annual Poetry Competition (Non-Rhyming Category) and the Anthology Magazine Poetry Prize. She is the author of “A Woman of a Certain Age,” “Merging Star Hypotheses” (Finishing Line Press 2018, 2020), “Dispatches From the Memory Care Museum” (Kelsay Books 2021) and co-author of the anthology “An Apple In Her Hand” (Codhill Press 2019).
